VICE <3 Tvärvägen

Tvärvägen gets lots of well deserved love in the latest issue of VICE.

The album got a great review AND was entitled “the best cover of the month”. Henrik truly is a star! (And his cool girlfriend does a great job too, that picture really is amazing. So glad we chose it for the cover.)

Believes with the B-side single Because of You has been delicately remixed by these three Swedish acts:
Dunklet feat. Simian Ghost (SE), Sail A Whale (SE) and Döden (YAST/SE).

“Believes” has been beautifully cut up into sad chamber pop by Dunklet feat. Simian Ghost on track 1. 

Then Sail A Whale turns the dark kraut out of “Because of You” into a dreamy epos. The song was premiered on the fine blog No Modest Bear last week.

And finally Döden (Markus Johansson from YAST) shakes “Believes” like a chill wave cocktail to dance to.

This release is presented by Hare Tracks, Adrian Recordings och Double Sun.

YAST öppnar för The Drums i Sthlm, Göteborg och Lund!

“Believes” heter 7”-singeln från Malmös finaste lo-fi romantiker YAST.

Singeln såg dagens ljus 6 februari i år, det fina omslaget lät tala om sig, alla dagdrömmande shoegazefantaster hittade något nytt att hänga fast vid.
Därefter har YAST fått ett uppslag i Sonic, “Believes” fick en A-rotation på Gimme Indie och klättrade in på en fin placering på Studentradiolistan.
Snart släpps remixer från bl.a. Simian Ghost och Sail A Whale.
Nöjesguiden i Malmö/Lund nominerade bandet till Årets Musik 2011 och listan på kommande spelningar går i takt med att  snön smälter och soltimmarna blir fler.

Paradise, that’s what grandfather named the meadows below Sven-the-hook. Now they’re overgrown with brushwood, but in the past lay the wheat fields that plunged all the way down to the creek. On the other side of the creek rose Hemberget over to which the old village road used to slither its way towards Norrfors, while to the west you could see Mora with its wonderful green pastures. You could see the vast landscape open up from Paradise, blinded by the sun, embedded in its safe embrace. That’s how Tvärvägen sounds. Like the memory of that hidden Paradise. The naked sound is undeniably close. Each instrument appears to be an old sturdy pine, as if you could dare to lean and rest against the rough surface. Each melody comes to you as the wind that touches the oat straw, natural and remarkable, while the harmonies glide like paper planes.
“Staring directly into the sun” is Tvärvägens second album.
